Our mission is to provide integrative, creative care from a prism of honor, reverence, and optimism.
Kristin Ray, LMHC
My journey into therapy began in 2004 during my junior year of my undergraduate degree when I made two volunteer trips to Chicago’s inner city to provide support to a social service agency working with homeless teen mothers. I later led a team of volunteers in 2005 to do much of the same. I have always had a passion for hearing the unique stories of others, rejoicing in their victories, and have always believed that everyone has the capacity for resilience, strength, and growth.
I started my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2007, at Trinity Western University, and after completing an internship working with families, and another providing counseling at Western Washington University, I graduated in 2010. It was at this time that I began my work as a Child Therapist, providing therapeutic services to some of the most vulnerable and underprivileged children in Eastern Washington. This experience deeply impacted me, developing a passion for child therapy. I love the way kids see the world, and how creative and unconfined children are when confronting life’s obstacles and challenges. Working with children fills my world with joy and is incredibly fulfilling.
In 2013, I was thrilled to relocate with my family to the Vancouver area where I have continued to serve children in a therapeutic setting. I specialize in trauma, sensory processing difficulties, attachment issues, developmental disabilities, ADHD/ADD, anxiety, aggressive and defiant behavior, drug and alcohol affected children, as well as children within and transitioning from foster care or adoptions. I also specialize in services for the LGBTQ community, especially transgender children. I offer Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based practices, Family Systems Approach, and Attachment Based Therapy services, as well as Art and Play Therapy.
When not doing therapy, I love to paint, knit, play the piano or guitar, garden and be anywhere that is deep in nature. I have a spouse that I adore and two kittens that keep me daily entertained with their antics.
